My Story

Hi! My name is Mengdi. I am a printmaker and designer with 6 years of experience as a UX designer and 2 years of experience in content curation. I have a M.S in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Michigan (2015) and am currently doing a master's degree in Digital Humanities at the University of Helsinki.

My printmaking practices focus on the in-between state of people who are underrepresented or facing dilemma, illustrating their struggles and agency. I mainly do relief printmaking including woodcut and linocut, together with bookbinding, collage, embroidery etc. to express emotions and narratives.
